I will pay more for membership to WNYC if you get rid of that theme song. Enough!!! I am so sick of it!

The sad comment on this man is that he proves that Americans can be manipulated and swindled every time. I can't believe he has had the wins he's had in these primaries. He epitomizes sleaze and deceit even more than Giuliani and that's going some. Phew, the one is gone how do we get rid of this one; he IS scary. I even fear he will actually slither his way to the top office. So keep your fingers crossed boys and girls and wake up America!

Your guest says George Romney was born in Mexico. Didn't he run for US president? Don't you have to be BORN in the US (not just a citizen of) to run for the high office?

    Who let the dogs out?

How could George Romney have been President, your guest just said he was born in Mexico. I thought you had to be born on U.S. soil to be eligible?

    I'm a former Michigander:

George Romney dropped out of the campaign because of his embarassment over his "I was brainwashed" comment on Viet Nam.

I don't follow sports & didn't know he "bailed out" the olympics. What, exactly, did he do & how would that experience contribute to his presidency?

Mitt Romney sends shivers up my spine.

  • [9] Robert from NYC January 30, 2008 - 11:30AM

Very appropriately put, Chestine. I have to say I'm glad he does that and hope he does it to others. He sure as heck makes me tremble.

    Romney also scares me too

    Course Ghouliani did too (9/11,9/11,9/11)

and so does Huckabee (some crazy ideas-and keep religion OUT of government!!!!!)

and so does Ron Paul (militia ties, racist comments, white supremacist supporters)

    Re: Comment #3.

Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution says: "No person except a natural born citizen...shall be eligible to the Office of President...."

I must've missed the part about George Romney being born in Mexico. But he probably was born to an American mother and father, which makes him a natural-born citizen (8 USC § 1401, I think, but don't take my word for it since the law might've been different back then). The key is being a citizen at birth, not birth on U.S. soil.

And here is the kicker about MITT.

He is (and has ALWAYS been) a MANAGER.

that is MANAGING a business, taking over and reshaping the business.

after our last (current) FAILURE of a president, the fact that ANYONE with an MBA degree should run for president should be regulated!

    ALSO: MITT

According to your guest & the Wikipedia entry on George Romney, Mitt's own grandfather was a polygamist with three wives. Why has that not received more exposure? That's his grampa, not some distant ancestor.
