  I saw the dance with the excavator at Socrates Park, to the music of Maria Callas, as the sun set over Manhattan. It was MAGICAL and BEAUTIFUL! And the Coltrane Concerts in Marcus Garvey Park and Tompkins Square Park are just two more examples of why this is the best city in the world.

  rain? what rain? My son titled his flickr album something like: Vampire Weekend: or how I learned to stop worrying and love torrential rain. He and his friends had a great time at Summerstage. (we won't mention the camera that no longer works...) thanks for great summer programming.

  RE: rained out outdoor concerts

  i was shocked several weeks ago at the salif keita concert in prospect park. there were monsoon style rains preceding the concert and throughout the entire opening group (halle). nobody budged and the crowds kept pouring in. every color, every age could be seen everywhere and after halle warmed it up, the soggy crowd danced non-stop to salif keita the entire concert. the community truly appreciates these events!

  Longtime listener, longtime audio engineer. Several of the jazz riffs you use for transitions are badly up-cut. They're like nails on a blackboard. Can't somebody take the time to add reverb, or a smooth fade-out? Thanks.
